During the operation, two temporary arrest warrants, seven search and seizure warrants, as well as other precautionary measures, were executed. The orders, issued by the 3rd Criminal Court of Mirassol D’Oeste, are carried out in the municipalities of Mirassol D’Oeste and Vila Bela da Santíssima Trindade.
The crime occurred on July 1st of this year, when the victim, identified as José Carlos Toninato, was shot with a 12-gauge firearm and a 9 mm caliber pistol, in a residence located between the Pôr do Sol and Morumbi neighborhoods.
At the time, four men arrived at the property in a vehicle. Three got out of the car and broke down the gate. Two of them, one with a long gun and the other with a pistol, fired shots at the victim. The fourth suspect remained in the vehicle to support the escape. The entire action lasted about a minute.
The investigations, conducted by the Mirassol D’Oeste Police Station, showed that the crime was previously planned and executed through division of tasks, use of a support vehicle and use of a property as a logistical base by the perpetrators. Video surveillance images made it possible to reconstruct part of the route taken by those involved before and after the homicide.
The investigations also identified evidence that people linked to the criminal structure had provided the location used by the executors and, subsequently, acted to eliminate elements of information, by removing or disabling the memory card from the property's security cameras.
The investigation also investigates the possible participation of members of a criminal faction, responsible for collecting the victim's address, driving the vehicle used in the crime, supporting the perpetrators and hiding those involved after the action.
Given the evidence, it was represented by the adoption of legal measures against those investigated, which were granted by the Judiciary. The materials seized during the operation will be sent for analysis, with the aim of identifying the perpetrators, collaborators and possible perpetrators of the homicide. The investigation remains ongoing to fully clarify the facts and hold everyone involved accountable.

The name “Ponto Cego” refers to the attempt to prevent the recording and recovery of images of the property used as support, with the aim of making it difficult to identify those involved and reconstruct the criminal dynamics.
