On a walk with a friend before the opening of the congress, the promoter was dragged while swimming and did not survive, despite being rescued by the Fire Department and Military Police. The friend also drowned and was taken to Hospital do Subúrbio by a Graer helicopter (Military Police Air Group).

She had traveled to participate in the 3rd Conamp Mulher Congress, in Salvador, held by the National Association of Members of the Public Ministry in the capital of Bahia to debate the role of women in prosecutors' offices.
