The trio Os Amantes releases their second album, 'Amar, amor!' with ten songs, nine of which are written by Ernna Cost / Disclosure ? NEWS ? The release of Os Amantes' second album, “Amar, amor!”, confirms the spacing that seems to guide the trajectory of the trio formed by Pará singer Jaloo with fellow countryman duo Strobo, composed of Arthur Kunz and Léo Chermont. In addition to interrupting a two and a half year hiatus, the album “Amar, amor!” arrives five years after its predecessor “Os Amantes”, the group’s debut album, released in 2021, but announced two years earlier, in 2019, with the release of the single “Ninguém” (2019). Throughout the ten tracks on the album “Amar, amor!”, the trio maintains music from Pará (especially tecnobrega and brega nortista) as the raw material of the almost entirely original repertoire, formatted in the studio with the crossing of brega with references from indie rock from the 2000s – evoked, for example, in the guitars that power the song “Adeus” (Arthur Kunz) – and even Japanese pop. In theory, the album “Amar, amor!” sounds seductive. In practice, the sequential listening to songs such as “ Acho que enlouqueci ” (Jaloo), “ Além de um som bom” (Léo Chermont and Arthur Kunz), “Seja livre” (Jaloo, Léo Chermont and Arthur Kunz) and “Notícia” (Léo Chermont and Jaloo) indicates that there is supremacy of the musical production and arrangements of the album in relation to the original songbook of Os Amantes. Symptomatically, the album “Amar, amor!” was announced on July 29th with the single that presented the only re-recording of the repertoire, “A Primeira vez”, a song by Tony Brasil that was successful on the northern circuit when it was released in 2000 with the voice of Pará singer Ana de Oliveira.
