5-year-old child dies and two people are injured during shooting attack in Paraty

Paraty Police Station Disclosure/Social Media A 5-year-old child died and two other victims, a 15-year-old teenager and a 4-year-old girl, were injured on Sunday night (5) after a shooting attack in Paraty (RJ). The crime took place around 7:30 pm, in a square in the Pantanal neighborhood. According to the Civil Police, the team was informed by the Military Police about what happened. In a preliminary report to agents, the injured teenager reported that he was in the square, where several children were playing, when criminals disembarked from a vehicle and shot in his direction. According to the police, the shots hit the young man and two children who were in the area. The victims were admitted to a Hugo Miranda Hospital unit. The boy could not resist the severity of his injuries and died in the hospital. The teenager remained conscious and in stable condition hospitalized. The 4-year-old girl is in serious condition and will undergo surgery. The child's body was removed and taken to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) in Angra dos Reis. The Civil Police also reported that they set up surveillance at the hospital to guarantee the physical integrity of the survivors and collect new statements as soon as medical clearance is obtained.
