The municipality also reported that the child had received a greater quantity of medication than indicated in the prescription during treatment. According to the secretariat, there is still no technical conclusion on the clinical consequences of the error or possible relationship with the subsequent outcome. The institution also reported that it opened an internal procedure to investigate the facts. The professionals directly involved in the care were removed until the end of the investigation. Baby was admitted with 'clinical changes' According to the municipality, the child was admitted to the unit with "relevant clinical changes", such as an oxygen saturation of 78%. The Civil Police opened an inquiry to investigate the case, but had not released details until the last update of the report. During the care, the baby was prescribed medication. According to the Health Department, it appears in the medical record that a quantity of medication greater than that actually prescribed would have been administered to the patient. The circumstance is being formally investigated, and there is, at this moment, no technical conclusion about its clinical consequences or possible relationship with the subsequent outcome. The Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) was called as soon as the unit's team realized the error and took the baby to Hospital Pequeno Anjo, in the neighboring city of Itajaí, where the death occurred.
