4-month-old baby dies after feeling ill at a daycare center in Caçador (SC) Illustration/Image bank A 4-month-old baby died after feeling ill inside a daycare center in Caçador, in the Midwest of Santa Catarina, on Tuesday (11). The child was rushed to an Emergency Care Unit (UPA), but did not survive. The Civil Police investigates the case. The death occurred in the morning, around 9 am, in an Early Childhood Education Center. The Caçadorense Association of Early Childhood Education and Social Assistance (ACEIAS), responsible for the teaching unit, reported that the girl had a sudden illness. ?Click and follow the g1 SC channel on WhatsApp Delegate Lucas Mendonça, from the Civil Police, explained that the mother left the girl at the scene at around 8am. After an hour, she received a call from the daycare center reporting that her daughter was feeling unwell and went to the school. There, she was informed of the death. In a statement to the police, the professionals who treated the girl reported that there were no apparent bodily injuries. However, due to the circumstances of what happened, the corporation was called. A forensic examination will be carried out, in addition to the hearing of witnesses. Entity mourns death In a statement, ACIEAS lamented the girl's death and reported that the circumstances of what happened are being monitored. Any additional information will be disclosed responsibly, respecting the family and the child's privacy.
