Cláudio Spinelli should be used as a reference in the attack, while Nuno Moreira, back after serving a suspension against Bahia, is the favorite to take over the Colombian's place.

The technical committee chose to preserve some starters in the last round of the national tournament. Among the main names in the squad are right-back Raúl Cáceres, who has played for Vitória, Cruzeiro and Vasco himself, midfielder Rubén Lezcano, formerly of Fluminense, and striker Braian Romero, who played for Internacional.
