UFRGS announces news for the 2027 Entrance Exam Camila Hermes/Agência RBS The Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) presented, this Friday (21), five changes for the 2027 entrance exam. The changes include new timetables, a change of host city in Serra and a reorganization of the order of subjects. Registration begins next Monday (24th) and runs until September 21st. The university offers 4,058 places in 98 undergraduate courses. Of the total opportunities, 70% are allocated to the entrance exam and 30% via the National High School Exam (Enem). Previously, exams started at 2pm. The gates will open at 1:30 pm and close at 2:15 pm. The objective of the change is to provide more time for candidates to arrive and improve the organization. ? The second change is the minimum time for the candidate to leave the test location with the question book, which went from two to five hours. The measure aims to increase security and prevent the circulation of material while many students are still taking the exam.

? The application location in Serra has also changed. Instead of Bento Gonçalves, the tests in the region will be held in Caxias do Sul. The intention is to adapt the entrance exam to the city that will host the future university campus. As a result, the exams will take place in Caxias do Sul, Porto Alegre, Gravataí, Canoas, Novo Hamburgo and Tramandaí. ? The fourth change refers to special assistance for candidates with disabilities. The request will now be evaluated by the UFRGS Include Center, which has specialized professionals, and no longer by the Selection Committee. ? Finally, the institution changed the order of the subjects. On the first day, tests in Biology, Physics, History, Mathematics and Chemistry will be administered. On the second day, candidates will take the Geography, Portuguese, Literature, Modern Foreign Language and Writing exams. Writing was grouped with subjects that require less calculations. The president of the UFRGS Permanent Selection Committee, Luis Mauro Gonçalves Rosa, detailed the reason for the reorganization. "Until last year, the mathematics test was on the second day, the physics test was on the second day, a difficult test, students had to take these tests that require a lot of concentration and still write an essay. What we did: it's not that the subjects on the second day are the easiest, but they involve less calculation, a little less concentration, more text reading and interpretation. So we thought that with these tests on the second day it would be easier for the student to do it more relaxed and be able to write an essay with more concentration", he said.
