STF maintains temporary suspension of NR-1 fines

Send it to g1 The suspension was determined on June 25, in the process in which the National Confederation of Educational Establishments (Confenen) questions, in the STF, the changes in Regulatory Standard 1 (NR-1), of the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE). The new rules oblige companies to identify, evaluate and adopt measures to reduce psychosocial risks in the workplace, such as stress, harassment and overload. Confenen, however, states that the standard does not make clear how these risks should be assessed nor what criteria should be used by labor inspectors to impose fines on companies. Conciliation When analyzing the case, André Mendonça stated that the inclusion of psychosocial risks in NR-1 is important to prevent workers from becoming ill and that the changes were the result of dialogue between government representatives, employers and workers. The minister, however, considered it necessary to seek a consensual solution to clarify the points questioned by Confenen. The action was forwarded to the STF's Consensual Conflict Resolution Center (Nusol), as determined by the rapporteur. The intention is to promote conciliation between the entity and the government bodies involved in regulation. The preliminary decision that suspended the application of the sanctions provided for in the rule was endorsed by the virtual plenary of the STF in a session that ended on August 18.
