"As soon as the processing of this request for judicial recovery is granted, the debts related to the actions and executions of financial institutions, suppliers and labor creditors will be subject to the effects of this action and must be paid in accordance with the Judicial Recovery Plan to be presented in due course", says the petition from the Casas Bahia group filed with Justice.
The union signed a power of attorney to enter the process as a creditor, but has a request for an annulment action prepared and promises to take legal action if it is unable to reach an agreement with the retailer. The action questions why the layoffs took place on a large scale without prior communication to the unions.
The company reportedly told the union at the meeting that the number of professionals laid off in São Paulo would not be sufficient for an annulment action.
In Greater São Paulo, Secor (Union of Commerce Employees of Osasco and Region) states that it will take collective action against the retail chain. The entity says it will request the reinstatement of employees and compensation for moral damage. The expectation is that the action will be presented this Wednesday (19).
