Semana Seu Geraldo transforms Leme into a stage for choro and Brazilian music The Eighth Week Seu Geraldo de Música, an event that brings together meetings dedicated to choro and instrumental music, begins on Sunday (12) and continues until July 18, in Leme (SP). The event brings together musicians, teachers and students from different regions of the country in a free program of musical performances, ensemble practices and training activities. ? Programming Semana Seu Geraldo de Música reaches its 8th edition in Leme (SP) Alex Tey/Disclosure The official opening will be at Praça Manoel Leme, in the former Fepasa, at 8pm on Sunday (12), with the presentation of the Corporação Musical Maestro Angelo Consentino, who welcomes clarinetist and saxophonist Nailor as guests "Proveta" Azevedo, as well as other musicians. In this year's edition, the event brings together renowned choro musicians and composers, including Nailor Proveta, Mauricio Carrilho, Pedro Aragão, Toninho Carrasqueira, Paulinho Leme, Jayme Vignoli, Marcus Thadeu, Marcílio Lopes, Pedro Paes, Aquiles Moraes and Paulo Aragão, responsible for the practical workshops that will take place during the week. On Thursday (16), at the same time, the show "Abença" takes place, with Saulo Ligo and André Bertini. On Friday (17th), at 6pm, the traditional Bandão Presentation will be held, the result of collective practice developed by workshop students throughout the week. The project also left an important legacy in the cultural formation of the city with initiatives such as the Choro na Escola Project, which took musical instrument classes to children in the Leme public school system. After the return of the event in 2025, the Seu Geraldo Music Week has been gaining momentum and reinforces the commitment to keeping the choro tradition alive, encouraging musical training and expanding access to Brazilian popular culture.
