Born in Cuiabá and raised in Guarantã do Norte, Diego Guimarães is seeking a second term in the state Legislature. When commenting on the officialization of the candidacy, the parliamentarian stated that he intends to present the results of his first term during the campaign.

“Those who deliver work and demonstrate commitment to the population can return with their heads held high to be accountable and show the results achieved,” he said.

During his term, Diego worked on issues related to infrastructure, energy, economy and taxpayer defense. Among the topics he mentioned are the articulations on the duplication of BR-163, in the stretch between Sinop and Guarantã do Norte, and the authorship of the law that created the MT Trifásico program, aimed at the expansion and modernization of the electrical network in rural and urban areas.

The deputy also cites as flags the creation of the State Taxpayer Defense Code, tax incentives for the revitalization of the Historic Center of Cuiabá, the presidency of the Mobile Telephony CPI and the leadership of the Parliamentary Trade Defense Front.

Throughout the legislature, Diego also allocated resources to areas such as health, education, infrastructure and public security, with political activity concentrated in Baixada Cuiabana and the northern region of the state.
