The measure, published in the city's Official Gazette this Tuesday (18), aims to guarantee some services provided by the institution, which four months ago declared to be "close to collapse" due to a debt of around R$5.9 million. The resources will cover a range of APAE procedures, such as mental rehabilitation and autism, physiotherapy, audiology, as well as specialized and more expensive treatments, such as Pediasuit and ABA therapy sessions. ? Of the amount of approximately R$426 thousand, 90% (R$383.6 thousand) is fixed, based on the physical target achieved, and 10% (R$42.6 thousand) is variable, depending on the quality assessment of the services provided. The new law is valid for 24 months and its financial effects are retroactive to June 1, 2026. 30% increase in transfers The president of APAE, Carlos Henrique Trochmann, evaluated the approval of the law as an essential victory for the entity's survival. According to him, the new text represents a 30.6% increase in transfers, correcting tables that were heavily out of date. "APAE welcomes the review of the transfer law. It is a good step forward, which will help the institution by giving it more autonomy and flexibility so that we can maintain services. We welcome the attitude of Mayor Rafael Piovezan and the support of all councilors at the City Council. We are very grateful for the agility with which this reform in the law was handled", says the president of APAE. Despite the approval of the transfer, the president informed that the financial problem facing the organization has not yet been resolved. "We need to closely monitor how the transfers will happen in practice and whether these resources will be sufficient to cover demands", he states.
