The inspection took place mainly on Rua Samuel Bessa, one of the busiest roads in Jacaré. Several poles were found at the site in poor condition. Many are still made of wood and some are tilted and have deteriorated bases. The teams also identified deteriorated poles used exclusively by telephone companies. According to the municipality, the operators responsible for the structures will also be contacted. The general coordinator of Procon Cabo Frio, Mônica Bonioli, informed that the body will open an administrative process to formalize the charge. Enel must be notified to carry out repairs or replace damaged poles within the established deadline. "These poles put the health and integrity of consumers at risk. They are structures that are badly damaged at their bases, many of them with termites, and could fall onto properties. Therefore, we will give the company a deadline to repair or replace these poles here in Jacaré", stated Mônica. The inspection in the neighborhood marks the beginning of a series of actions defined after a meeting held last week between representatives from City Hall, Procon, Secretariat of Environment, Climate and Sanitation, Secretariat of Urban Mobility, City Attorney's Office, Attorney General's Office, Enel and Prolagos. The meeting aimed to align procedures between the municipality and concessionaires, in addition to discussing measures to avoid unnecessary interventions and disruptions to urban planning. The City Hall informed that inspections will also be carried out on other roads and public places. According to the Secretary of Environment, Climate and Sanitation, Jailton Nogueira, inspection is part of the action plan defined after meetings with concessionaires. "This is part of a meeting we held with the concessionaires, where we discussed this service provision, this service and delivery to the population of Cabo Frio. We are very careful about this. We carried out this inspection and now we are going to apply an immediate action plan to put an end to this danger for the citizen", he stated.
