Estreito dos Mosquitos Bridge on BR-135 will have a 'Stop and Go' system for the next two weekends Juvêncio Martins/TV Mirante The Estreito dos Mosquitos Bridge, on BR-135, in São Luís, will have a partial closure during the next two weekends for maintenance services to be carried out. According to the National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT), traffic will operate using the "Stop and Go" system on the 22nd, 23rd, 29th and 30th of August. The intervention will be necessary to install new expansion joints on the bridge. During the work, vehicles will be released alternately in both directions of the highway. See the closure times: Saturday (22): from 7am to 9pm; Sunday (23): from 7am to 12pm; Saturday (29): from 7am to 9pm; Sunday (30): from 7am to 12pm. According to DNIT, the operation could cause traffic delays and increase travel time for those passing through the section. The agency advises drivers to reduce speed when approaching the area under construction, respect the signage and follow the instructions of the teams that will be on site.
