According to the Public Ministry, the attempted murder was carried out for a reason considered futile and with a resource that made it difficult for the victim to defend himself, circumstances that qualify the crime. The complaint also includes an accusation of bodily harm against a woman who was at the scene. According to the MPRS, she was allegedly attacked when trying to provide assistance while treating the injured mechanic. In addition to holding the accused criminally liable, the Public Prosecutor's Office asked the Court to establish a minimum compensation to repair the damages suffered by those affected.
