Flávio Bolsonaro's government plan proposes limits to the STF and refutes Lula's speech on sovereignty

Flávio suggests ending the special forum for parliamentarians and creating a "limitation" for individual decisions in the court, privileging collective decisions so that, in his words, "the pen of a single minister does not override the work of the entire Congress".

The government plan also suggests restricting the list of individuals and legal entities with legitimacy to propose actions before the STF - an idea defended by part of the National Congress, including the president of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre (União Brasil-AP), to try to stop challenges to approved laws.

Today, the list of those who can propose so-called ADIs (direct actions of unconstitutionality), for example, includes political parties, governors, Legislative Assemblies, union confederations or national class entities.

In the document, Flávio states that the Supreme Court has accumulated an unparalleled volume of functions and says that "returning to the court its role as a constitutional court is reestablishing the balance between the Powers, which is the basis of democracy."

"None of these measures weakens the Judiciary. They all return it to its constitutional place, and return to the people, through their elected representatives, the power to decide on their own lives", says an excerpt from the plan, called "For Brazil to Overcome Delay".

Flávio's campaign intended to register his candidacy for President this Thursday morning, but was surprised by the information that he had been unduly affiliated with the Missão party, of the MBL (Movimento Brasil Livre).

In the document, the senator also talks about preventing relatives up to the third degree from advocating in the courts of their respective magistrates.

SOVEREIGNTY

Flávio skewers Lula in the plan by saying that sovereignty cannot be exercised by "repeating the word 'sovereignty' all the time."

The PL candidate does not mention the president of the United States, Donald Trump, or the change in Brazil's embassy in Israel, but he mentions both countries, in addition to Argentina, when saying that their relationship with Brazil has been taken "to the limit of rupture".

"We will negotiate with everyone that interests Brazil, from China to the European Union, from the United States to Asian markets, because what guides our diplomacy is the interest of Brazilian producers and workers, not sympathy or antipathy for this or that government", he says.

END OF RE-ELECTION FOR PRESIDENT

In the document, Flávio proposes the end of re-election for the position of President of the Republic.

He states that, "unlike the PT, our project is for the country, not for power", and says that a proposal with the same objective has already been formally presented by the senator.

During a speech in May in Santa Catarina, Flávio mentioned the possibility that, if elected, his government would last eight years.

The speech contradicted his statement to allies that, if he wins in October, he will leave the way clear for other candidates in 2030.

"My dream, and what I will achieve, is to end the government, Jorginho [Mello, governor of SC], whether in four, five, eight years, where we will be able to beat our chests and say: 'Less people depend on politicians to bring food into their homes and bring dignity to their families'", said the senator at the time.
