The accident occurred around 10 am at km 4.1 of Rodovia Fernão Dias (the stretch of BR-381 between São Paulo and Belo Horizonte). Among the victims, the two dead were a man and a woman who were in the car, which was traveling in the opposite direction to the truck that caused the accident.

According to the PRF, the truck that caused the accident remains at the scene. The track remains completely closed in both directions to deal with the incident and assess the affected structure. At around 1:55 pm, the congestion is approximately 11 kilometers towards São Paulo and nine kilometers towards Belo Horizonte.
The incident is still ongoing and teams from the PRF, the Fire Department and the Motiva dealership are still on site providing guidance to drivers.
