It seems natural that people correctly accused of a serious crime would quickly become desperate and irrational in an attempt to cover up their actions. Some defendants, those with good lawyers and robust intelligence, can create airtight alibis to protect themselves, whether they are guilty or not. However, in other situations, things can get a little too crazy. Some criminal defenses were practically laughed out of court, while others, although seemingly ridiculous, inexplicably won over jurors and judges. It just goes to show that sometimes taking a shot in the dark is worth it.
