"As the child had several injuries, we do not know the duration of these injuries. Only forensics will be able to confirm. They are injuries to the head, buttocks, legs", reports Alice Fernandes, delegate of the 3rd Police Station for the Protection of Children and Adolescents. ? The girl's aunt, who took her to the emergency unit, gave statements to the police on two occasions. The delegate reports that the aunt claims that, when she arrived home after work, the girl was getting out of the shower and had injuries on her body. She allegedly questioned her companion and the two had an argument. "The girl went to her room to sleep. When her aunt passed by, the girl was in bed, sleeping. She saw that she was foaming at the foam, as if she were convulsing", says the deputy. Until the publication of this report, the police were still not working with suspects and were treating everyone involved in the case as witnesses. Samylle's aunt informed the police that the girl was living with her. According to the delegate, documents show that the Guardianship Council had, at the beginning of July, granted provisional custody to the aunt, who was in negotiations to obtain permanent custody. In a note, the Public Defender's Office confirmed that she was contacted by her aunt last Thursday (13), "directed by the Guardianship Council, due to the impossibility of the mother exercising custody." Samylle Valentina had a nine-year-old sister. In 2025, due to a report of alleged sexual abuse, the Guardianship Council recommended that the two go to live with their maternal grandparents. "Until September, this council visited the grandmother's house, informed the grandmother, forwarded it to CREAS, to the health services, we called the mother who was no longer with the alleged abuser. When the Judiciary arrived and took action, and we were not provoked, for us everything was following its natural course", describes the general coordinator of the Guardianship Councils of Porto Alegre, Leandro Barbosa da Silva. He states that he is frustrated and sums up the tragedy: "The feeling of duty does not fulfilled.” READ ALSO Police investigate death of 4-year-old child in Porto Alegre after attacks 'The investigation will say whether he was a victim of torture', says police chief 4-year-old child dies in UPA in Porto Alegre after being taken by his aunt; police investigate Reproduction VIDEOS: Everything about RS
