Mercenárias, Otá and DJ Dan3u are some of the attractions at Uivo Cuir Fest, an LGBTQIA festival in São Carlos Disclosure Bands, DJs, conversation circles and a fair are on the schedule for the 4th edition of Uivo Cuir Fest, an independent festival dedicated to LGBTQIA+ music, art and culture in São Carlos (SP), this Sunday (16), from 3pm to 9pm, at Teatro de Arena José Saffioti Filho. With free entry, the event celebrates Lesbian Visibility Month. Among the attractions is the São Paulo band Mercenárias, one of the historic names of national post-punk, which arrives in São Carlos with the 40th anniversary tour of the album “Cadê as Armas?” (See schedule below) ? The program for this edition brings together artists from different cities and aspects of independent music. After 8 years, the band Mercenárias returns to São Carlos with a show full of classics such as "Santa Igreja", "Me Perco", "Pânico" and "Polícia", celebrating more than four decades of career. Also part of the line-up are Nomádica, from São Carlos, made up mostly of women and LGBT people; the Minas Gerais duo OTÁ, which mixes punk and hardcore in original compositions; and La Burca, from Araraquara and São Carlos, which moves through sounds such as punk, post-punk and folk. Banda Nomádica represents the queer community of São Carlos and the region Personal archive The program will also include sets by DJs Ninfa and Dan3u, members of Coletivo 220, from São Carlos, which works to strengthen the queer and underground electronic scene in the interior of SP. Also from the region's independent scene, DJs Letssica and Bardo, present an alternative music set, from darkwave to krautrock. In addition to the shows, the public will be able to participate in the conversation "Art, resistance and mental health: create to (re)exist", with artists, researchers and health professionals to reflect on the role of artistic creation as a tool for self-care, collective strengthening and resistance. Ana Cris Campos, Paulo Roberto de Oliveira Filho, Luisa Targino and Élio da Matta participate in the conversation, bringing different experiences between art, culture, mental health and activism. A festival held in the interior With a member of São Carlos and Araraquara, La Burca brings post punk and grunge influences to the Uivo stage Disclosure Throughout the editions between São Carlos and Araraquara, the festival became a meeting point between musicians, artists, producers and LGBTQIA+ audiences, creating a network that mixes cultural production, affection and resistance. The objective is to build spaces for artists who are often outside the major cultural circuits. The fourth edition is held with the support of the City of São Carlos, through the Municipal Center for Arts and Culture (CEMAC), and in partnership with Quitutes Veganos, Cia do Rock São Carlos, Casarão Grande Rock and Weirdo Distro.
