Man steals bus at Padre Anchieta Terminal and is arrested in Hortolândia A 59-year-old man was arrested red-handed after stealing a public transport bus on Tuesday night (14), at the Padre Anchieta terminal, in Campinas (SP). Showing signs of drunkenness, he drove to Hortolândia (SP), where he was intercepted. To the guards, he claimed to be a former driver and said he took the vehicle "to go for a ride" out of nostalgia for the profession. The Campinas Municipal Development Company (Emdec) reported that the theft occurred while the official driver was using the terminal's bathroom. When he returned, he did not find the collective. As the bus was out of operation, there were no passengers at the time of the crime. The Military Police (PM) and the Municipal Guard (GM) were called. The bus was located during a patrol in the Jardim das Figueiras neighborhood, in Hortolândia. To stop the bus, the guards entered through the back door and turned off the ignition key. The man was removed from the vehicle and taken to the city's on-duty police station. Representatives from the bus company registered a police report and recovered the vehicle, which was undamaged.
