Ponta das Lajes Station undergoes a scheduled stop on Tuesday (18)

Ponta das Lajes Station Disclosure/Water of Manaus Next Tuesday (18), the Ponta das Lajes Water Treatment Station (PDL), located in the east of Manaus, will undergo a scheduled shutdown. The service is part of the actions that the concessionaire carries out during the dry period, reinforcing operational security in the second half of the year. The station will be temporarily turned off, which should cause the interruption of water supply in neighborhoods in the East zone and part of the North zone. Work will begin at 6am, with completion expected at 6pm on the same day. After the maintenance service is completed, the water supply will gradually begin to be restored. The supply recovery process takes up to 48 hours after the end of maintenance — that is, impacted neighborhoods may be without water service until Thursday night (20). To reduce impacts during this period, Águas de Manaus recommends that residents reserve water before Tuesday (18). The reserve must be sufficient to meet needs during the supply recovery period, which can extend for up to two days after maintenance. The concessionaire also advises the population to make conscious use of the resource during this period, avoiding activities such as washing clothes and vehicles. Scheduled shutdown Ponta das Lajes Disclosure/Águas de Manaus SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS On August 18, Águas de Manaus scheduled the execution of more than 21 services in parallel during maintenance, including the installation of new water collection pumps, maintenance in electricity substations, cleaning and inspections at the Water Treatment Station (ETA) and in operational units located in the area supplied by Ponta das Lajes. "We are preparing for the dry period. In the last three years, Manaus has faced historic droughts, but the water supply in the capital has not been affected thanks to all the investments and preventive maintenance we have carried out in our systems. Next Tuesday, we will install new equipment and carry out interventions to further reinforce our structure. These are measures that increase our operational security and make us better prepared to face another period of drought", highlights the Operations Manager of Águas de Manaus, Jessica Candeia. During the service at Ponta das Lajes Station, Águas de Manaus teams will be mobilized with water tankers to supply priority points, such as hospitals, Basic Health Units (UBSs) and schools located in the affected areas.
