Government extends Desenrola until August 31 The Minister of Finance, Dario Durigan, stated this Thursday (13) that around 800,000 people were excluded from bets for having joined Desenrola 2.0. According to the rules of Desenrola 2.0, a debt renegotiation program, debtors, and even defaulters, who seek to review their debts with financial institutions cannot place bets online for at least six months. "Due to the numbers of the new Desenrola, which reach more than 800 thousand people with active betting accounts, who have joined and, as a result, are prevented from betting at these bookmakers," the minister told journalists. In total, according to him, five million people have already been excluded from online betting. The exclusion of beneficiaries from social programs complies with the determination of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) to prevent resources from assistance programs from being used in betting. Voluntary self-exclusion Through the self-exclusion service, launched in December last year, anyone can block their CPF from online betting sites. Centralized self-exclusion is "scientifically recognized as an essential strategy to reduce harm to the population's mental health in relation to gambling", says the government. Self-exclusion can be accessed through registration on the "gov.br" portal and can be made available for one, three, six, twelve months, or for an indefinite period, in which the bettor will make his CPF unavailable for new registrations and receiving advertising. "Once the deadline has been selected, it is not possible to reverse the choice during the indicated period. There is the option of self-excluding from the betting environment for an indefinite period of time (without a deadline).
