In a speech on national radio and television this Friday (21), the Minister of Health, Alexandre Padilha, called on families to participate in the campaign.

During D-Day, the following vaccines may be administered (depending on age group, vaccination history and indication):

Measles
Given the increase in measles cases in the Region of the Americas and the record of imported cases in Brazil, the ministry maintains the strategy of indiscriminate vaccination against the disease for people aged 6 months to 59 years in Guarulhos (SP), São Bernardo do Campo (SP) and the capital of São Paulo.
The minister highlighted that Brazil has registered cases of the disease from other countries and warned of the need to maintain vigilance.
“Therefore, all the attention of families and the SUS is necessary to prevent measles from circulating again in Brazil,” said Padilha.
Data from the folder show that, from August 3rd to 14th, more than 529.8 thousand doses of the triple viral vaccine were administered in the three municipalities. Of this total, 87.2 thousand doses were intended for children aged 5 to 11 years – equivalent to 16.5% of applications.

The campaign began at the beginning of the month and continues until September 1st, with the offer of 20 doses from the National Vaccination Calendar that protect against diseases such as meningitis, tuberculosis and cancers associated with HPV infection.
Until last Wednesday (18), the Ministry of Health had distributed more than 180 million doses to guarantee vaccination throughout the country throughout the year. Vaccines against influenza, measles (triple viral) and polio were the most widely used.
When calling on the population for D-Day, Padilha also warned of the risks of misinformation about vaccines.
“Don’t let fake news put our children’s health at risk”, he concluded.
