"Anonymous complaints have contributed to direct inspections and operations carried out in partnership between the concessionaire and public security forces. In recent months, actions to combat energy theft have been intensified and resulted in inspections, fines and arrests in several regions of Mato Grosso", says Luciano Lima, Loss Combat Manager at Energisa Mato Grosso.
In addition to security risks, energy theft also compromises the quality of supply, which can cause overloads on the electrical grid, voltage fluctuations and service interruptions for consumers who use energy regularly. Therefore, the participation of the population is essential to strengthen the fight against irregularities.
Part of the inspections carried out by Energisa in partnership with the security forces originate from information received through reporting channels, which helps to identify locations with signs of fraud.
"The information passed on by the population is treated with absolute confidentiality and helps to identify places with irregularities, making actions more efficient. If the population identifies suspicious situations, it is important to communicate through official channels. This information helps direct inspection actions and combat energy theft", adds Lima.
