The list was formed from six names sent by OAB-AM. The initial list was defined after a consultation with the participation of 3,885 lawyers eligible to vote. According to OAB-AM, the process had, for the first time, gender parity, with three female lawyers among the six names most voted by the class. After receiving the triple list, it was up to the governor to choose one of the three candidates to fill the vacancy. Upon learning of the appointment, Choy stated that he accepts the new role with responsibility, but also with joy. By rule, one fifth of the vacancies in the Courts of Justice, Regional Federal Courts and Regional Labor Courts are allocated to professionals from the legal profession and the Public Prosecutor's Office, following the requirements set out in the Constitution.
