Cordeiro, Cantagalo and Macuco will receive R$14.1 million for the construction of popular housing

In total, nine terms of commitment were signed for cities in the state of Rio de Janeiro, totaling around R$51.7 million in investments. In addition to Cordeiro, Cantagalo and Macuco, Rio das Flores, Quatis, Cardoso Moreira, Porciúncula, Bom Jesus do Itabapoana and Tanguá were also included. According to the Ministry of Cities, the resources are part of the Dignified Housing Program and will be used for the construction of more than 300 housing units through Minha Casa, Minha Vida – Sub 50, a modality aimed at municipalities with up to 50 thousand inhabitants. In the cases of Cordeiro, Cantagalo and Macuco, each term of commitment provides for an investment of R$4.7 million. Of this amount, R$2.8 million are Union resources, distributed between 2026 and the following years, while R$1.9 million corresponds to the State Government's counterpart, through CEHAB-RJ. The agreements are valid until July 31, 2028. Before construction begins, the projects will still go through the stages of preparing executive projects, licensing and other technical procedures. CEHAB-RJ is the public company responsible for the state's housing policy and works in partnership with the Ministry of Cities to implement programs aimed at reducing the housing deficit. MORE
