Rain and wind for some and air humidity of 12% for others: Inmet issues danger alerts

It is not just the southern region of the country that is expected to suffer from intense rain in the coming days. The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) brings a danger warning for volumes that can vary between 60 mm and 100 mm and winds with the potential to reach 100 km/h in part of the Northeast.

According to the agency, between this Tuesday and Wednesday (18th and 19th), the following areas of Alagoas and Pernambuco are expected to feel the impacts of severe weather:

- Pernambuco: Metropolitan Region of Recife, rural areas and Pernambuco forest

- Alagoas: east and wild

In total, almost 120 municipalities could be in the path of these phenomena (see the full list here). Inmet warns that in these regions, there is a risk of electricity cuts, falling tree branches, flooding and electrical discharges.

Low air humidity

While some live with intense rain, other regions must feel the effects of very low relative humidity, which must vary between 20% and 12%. To give you an idea, the World Health Organization (WHO) establishes that the ideal level for human health is between 40% and 70%.

According to Inmet, states in the Southeast, Central-West and North should be impacted, as shown in the map below:

In these areas (around 1050 municipalities), there are risks of forest fires and health, such as dry skin, discomfort in the eyes, mouth and nose. Such signs call for even more attention from rural men and women throughout their farming activities, such as constant hydration, covering with hats and caps and spending more time in shaded areas.
