Access the g1 RS channel on WhatsApp Samylle was admitted in the early hours of Monday (17) at the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) Bom Jesus, in the East Zone of Porto Alegre, already lifeless and with purple spots on her body. The police were called immediately after doctors found signs of violence on the child's body. According to the delegate, the aunt stated that on the day of death, she noticed that Samylle had injuries. She had arrived home after work and had an argument with her partner after asking him about her injuries. "The girl went to her room to sleep. When her aunt passed by, the girl was in bed, sleeping. She saw that she was foaming at the mouth, as if she was convulsing", says the deputy. Samylle's mother was interviewed by the police for the first time on Wednesday morning (19). The woman arrived at the police station shortly before 11am, accompanied by a lawyer, and gave her statement for around an hour. The police questioned why the child was not with his mother, who had sole custody. Her mother told police she hadn't seen her daughter in at least two months. According to the police, the woman reported that she had not had contact with the girl "not even via video call." "All the information she had about the girl was either through her grandmother or her older sister. She was not having contact either via video call or in person with the girl." According to the woman's defense, her aunt prevented her from seeing her daughter. "The mother states that she was being prevented by her uncles from visiting her daughter and even from talking to her on the phone. The only information was obtained through her older sister, who was eventually able to visit her." According to the police, the mother detailed how her daughters were divided. "She ended up separating from her partner and went to a friend's house. She would not be able to take the girls with her. As a result, the older girl started to live with her father, and the younger girl was under the guardianship of a friend, a trusted person who lived on the same street. Soon after, the aunt took the child to stay with her", explains the delegate. Samylle's aunt has already been interviewed by investigators. According to the delegate, the woman collaborated with the authorities. "She gave all the statements and to this day she is still considered a witness." To assist in the investigation, the Court authorized the extraction of data from a cell phone seized from her aunt and uncle's house, where the girl was living. The contents of the device are considered crucial by police to understand the context of the death.
