The closure will occur while worshipers are passing through the highway and will aim to reduce the risk of accidents and organize the flow of vehicles in the area. As part of the operation, the PRF will completely close BR-222 between kilometers 156 and 162, in the section that connects the town of Paulica to the center of Vargem Grande. The image of the saint will be carried by the faithful, leaving the Main Church, located in the city center, to the chapel in the village of Paulica, at km 161 of BR-222. According to the PRF, the region where the closure will occur does not have alternative routes, whether through federal, state or municipal routes. "Due to the celebrations of São Raimundo Nonato dos Mulundus, there will be a total closure of the BR-222, between km 156 and 162, in the section between the town of Paulica and Vargem Grande. The closures will occur at the following times: from 6 am to 10 am and from 4 pm to 6 pm, on August 22, 2026", the PRF said in a note.
