I liked the cover of the fifth studio album by the band Black Pantera, “Continental”, as soon as I looked at the image. And I think the function of an album cover is this: to immediately capture the listener's attention and eye. I started to like the album cover even more when I came across the band's interpretation of the image. But the fact is that a record cover – yes, I still have a habit of calling an album, EP or single a record – is in essence a work of art and, as such, doesn't need any explanation. It's art. And all art is subject to multiple interpretations. Or none at all. Just as a song can sound sublime to some and go unnoticed for others, an album cover can also generate charm or even indifference. The cover of the album “Continental” enchanted me. It is an image that has poetry and that honors the tradition of great covers in the group's studio discography, increasing expectations for listening to the album that Black Pantera features with Derrick Green, Duquesa and Sandra de Sá on the songs “Obsoleto”, “Serotonina” and “ Quando canto”, respectively. Let “Continental” come with this cover that is as beautiful as it is expressive!
