The death was confirmed by Maricá City Hall, through the Municipal Health Department. According to the municipal administration, Jonah remained hospitalized in the hospital's Pediatric Intensive Care Center (CTI). During the investigation, the Civil Police identified signs of sexual violence. According to the police, investigations indicate that the mother was a drug user and, on some occasions, left her son in the care of other men while she went out to buy drugs. Investigators also had access to a video in which she appears pushing the child's stroller down a street and letting it go, putting the baby at risk of being run over. The Civil Police are also investigating the participation of other people in the crime and are awaiting the results of DNA tests carried out on materials collected from the house where the baby lived. The case is investigated by the 82nd DP (Maricá).
