Starting this Monday (17), B3 will make 164 new assets available for trading on the forward market. The expansion has 99 Real Estate Funds (FIIs) and 65 unsponsored BDRs. Until then, there were 20 FIIs and 14 unsponsored BDRs available for trading.

According to the Stock Exchange, the forward market has already moved more than R$12 billion in accumulated volume in 2026, with an average ticket of R$189 thousand.

In the forward market, the buyer and seller agree on the price of a given asset so that the transaction can be settled on a previously defined future date. These conditions enable investors to adopt different strategies, both for portfolio protection (hedging) and for seeking profits, including the simultaneous use of positions in the forward and spot markets, in addition to operations with futures contracts or options.

Among the new assets are BDRs linked to global companies such as Berkshire Hathaway (BERK34), Coca-Cola (COCA34), Disney (DISB34), Goldman Sachs (GSGI34), JP Morgan Chase (JPMC34), Micron Technology (MUTC34), Oracle (ORCL34), Palantir Technologies (P2LT34), Taiwan Semiconductor (TSMC34) and Visa (VISA34).

Among the real estate funds that join the forward market are BRCO11 (Bresco), GGRC11 (Zagros Capital), GSFI11 (Capitânia Investimentos), IRIM11 (Iridium Gestão de Recursos), KNSC11 (Kinea), MCCI11 (Mauá Capital Real Estate) and PMLL11 (Patria Investimentos).

In 2025, the total volume traded in the forward market was R$22.9 billion. Other asset classes available for trading are shares, units, sponsored BDRs and ETFs. Institutional investors are responsible for 73% of trades, while individuals represent around 17% of trades, reports B3.

"It is a tool that expands the investor's planning possibilities. The forward market can be used both for a directional view on a given asset and as part of more sophisticated protection, financing or cash management strategies", explains B3's Equities product manager, Renato Munhoz.

On the Exchange website, you can consult the list of BDRs and real estate funds available for forward trading.
