According to the public ministry, the hearing is the result of meetings held between the MPF, leaders of the homeless population, the Papa João XXIII Foundation (Funpapa), the Municipal Attorney General's Office (PGM) and representatives of bodies that make up the Local Committee of the National Judicial Policy for Attention to Homeless People. Homeless population increases by 500% in Belém over eight years The condition of homeless people has increasingly worried the authorities in Belém. A survey by the Brazilian Observatory of Public Policies for Homeless People, with data from CadÚnico passed on by the municipalities to the federal government, showed that the number of homeless people increased by more than 500% in eight years in Belém, the city of COP 30.
