With actions aimed at welcoming families in vulnerable situations, encouraging autonomy through professional qualification and expanding solidarity campaigns, the municipality has been structuring integrated action to meet the different needs of the population. Among the highlights are the Mãe Americanense program, which offers support to pregnant women, the permanent work of the Social Solidarity Fund and the implementation of a new Professional Qualification Center, initiatives that reinforce the commitment to social inclusion and improving quality of life. Reception since pregnancy Within this set of actions, the Mãe Americanense program has established itself as an important initiative to support pregnant women in situations of social vulnerability. Created in 2023 by the City Hall, through the Secretariat of Social Assistance and Human Rights, the program has already benefited more than 450 pregnant women and families, offering support, guidance and support during pregnancy. The fortnightly meetings cover topics such as health, prenatal care, family planning, breastfeeding, childbirth, child development and strengthening the bond between mother and baby. At the end of each edition, participants receive a free layette kit with essential items for the child's first months. "Mãe Americanense represents a public policy that takes care of families from the beginning of pregnancy. More than offering a layette, the program promotes guidance, reception and strengthening family bonds, helping mothers and babies to have a safer and healthier start in life", highlights the Secretary of Social Assistance and Human Rights, Juliani Hellen Munhoz Fernandes. Solidarity and generation of opportunities The social work carried out in the municipality is also strengthened by the actions of the Social Solidarity Fund. Throughout the year, campaigns to collect and distribute donations mobilize partners, companies and volunteers to serve families in vulnerable situations. In 2025 alone, more than 100 tons of food were distributed, benefiting thousands of people and charities in the city. "Our objective is to welcome those who need it most, but also to create opportunities for families to gain autonomy. Solidarity transforms lives when it is accompanied by public policies that promote inclusion, qualification and new perspectives for the future”, says the president of the Social Solidarity Fund, Lionela Ravera Sardelli. Another initiative that expands this work is the implementation of the new Professional Qualification Center, in Jardim dos Lírios. The space will be used to offer training courses, strengthening social inclusion policies, economic development and job and income generation.
