UNIFEB students are elected Queen and Princess of Barretos Credit: Disclosure Two students from UNIFEB (University Center of the Barretos Educational Foundation) were chosen to officially represent the 71st Festa do Peão de Barretos. Production Engineering academic, Alessa Esper, aged 21, was elected Queen of Os Independentes 2026, while Law student, Samyra Gonçalves, also aged 21, won the title of Princess. The choice took place during the traditional competition held at North Shopping Barretos. The event brought together a large audience, organized fans and a panel of judges responsible for defining the official representatives of the biggest rodeo party in Latin America. More than a beauty contest, the election values ??charisma, resourcefulness, communication and identification with the history and traditions of the Festa do Peão de Barretos. The achievement of the academics highlights the protagonism of students who combine university education with outstanding experiences in the community. To the Interim Rector of UNIFEB, Prof. Ma. Eliane Araújo Cardoso da Silva Santana, the presence of two students among the official representatives of the Festa do Peão de Barretos is a reason for celebration for the entire university community. "We received this news with great joy. Seeing our students officially representing a nationally renowned event demonstrates that university education also contributes to developing leadership, responsibility and protagonism. Alessa and Samyra certainly inspire other students to believe in the potential they have. We congratulate them both on this important achievement", he highlighted.
