UNIFEB Law students participate in legal congress in Brasília Credit: Disclosure Encouraging experiences that go beyond the classroom is one of the differences in the training offered by UNIFEB (University Center of the Barretos Educational Foundation). Proof of this was the participation of four Law students at ExpoDireito Brasil 2026, considered the largest legal congress in Latin America, held in Brasília (DF). Representing the institution, students Ana Kelly, Ingrid, Jéssica Caroline and Nayara Borges, all in the 3rd term of the Law course, participated in an intense program aimed at academic and professional improvement, with lectures, debates and activities that addressed current and relevant topics for the legal universe. Among the topics discussed during the congress were legal marketing, artificial intelligence applied to Law, cyber crimes, Family Law, Tax Law and Jury Courts, as well as other topics that reflect the transformations and challenges of the contemporary legal area. According to the academics, the experience was extremely enriching and transformative. In addition to expanding their knowledge through lectures given by national legal experts, they also had the opportunity to exchange experiences with students and professionals from different regions of the country. Another aspect highlighted by the participants was the possibility of networking with renowned lawyers and colleagues who share the same professional goals. "These connections showed us new perspectives and further strengthened our motivation to pursue our career. We returned from this trip with the certainty that we had chosen the right path. It was an experience that motivated us even more to continue studying, improving ourselves and believing in our dreams", they reported. Among the most memorable moments of the congress was the lecture by jurist Aury Lopes Jr., one of the main names in Criminal Procedural Law in Brazil. The students also followed presentations by nationally recognized experts, such as Rogério Greco, Ércio Quaresma, Pedro Lenza, Flávio Tartuce, Giovanni Machado, Matheus Scarlatte, João Ricardo, Marcela Rezende and Rodrigo Alvarez. The program also included a visit to the STF (Supreme Federal Court), providing academics with the opportunity to get to know one of the most important institutions in the Brazilian justice system up close. During the visit, they were able to follow the court's routine and meet personalities from the national judiciary, such as ministers Cármen Lúcia and Flávio Dino, who shared guidance and reflections on the legal career. The experience also had the support of Alexandre Andreatta, chief advisor of the Parliamentary Articulation Office, responsible for helping to carry out the activities in Brasília. The students also visited the Minister Sepúlveda Pertence Museum, deepening their knowledge about the history of Brazilian institutions, democracy and justice in the country. The academics made a point of thanking Professor Chafei Amsei Neto, professor of Criminal Law at UNIFEB, for the encouragement and support that contributed to the completion of the trip. To the coordinator of the UNIFEB Law course, Prof. Ma. Letícia de Oliveira Catani Ferreira, events of this magnitude provide a very enriching experience. "The participation of Law students in legal events is fundamental for their academic, personal and professional training. Through congresses, lectures, seminars and debates, students have the opportunity to expand their knowledge, follow legislative and jurisprudential transformations, develop critical thinking and come into contact with different perspectives on relevant topics in the legal area", he concluded.
