Founded in 1992, Akaer operates in the development of projects for the aerospace and defense sectors and participated in programs such as the Gripen NG, the KC-390, the Super Tucano and Embraer aircraft. The sale comes after the company inaugurated in August last year, in São José dos Campos, a production line for the front fuselage of the D328eco regional aircraft, from the German manufacturer Deutsche Aircraft. At the time, Akaer reported that the project expected to generate around 250 direct and indirect jobs.
