The pair then used the lawyer's keys to enter his house. One of the criminals stayed in the car with the victim, while the other broke into the property. He stole an amount stored there, estimated at R$6,000. After the robbery at the house, the suspects went to a sugarcane field near the Cidade Nova neighborhood, tied the lawyer's hands with his tie, tied the victim to a structure in the trunk and locked the compartment.
