The accident was recorded this Sunday (16). José Carlito Palmiere, aged 69, died at the scene. Two other occupants were taken to a hospital in Porangatu (GO), but did not survive their injuries. According to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) of the city of Goiás, the victims were identified as João Leonardo Pinto Trindade and Paulo Cunha de Araújo, both from Pará. José Carlito was born in Minas Gerais. The three dead were in the same truck, which crashed into the back of another heavy vehicle. According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the stretch of km 793 remains partially open to traffic using the stop and go system. A second vehicle involved in the accident is still being removed. The Tocantins Public Security Secretariat (SSP-TO) informed that the case was registered by the Civil Police and that the circumstances of the accident will be investigated.
