Atibaia Flower and Strawberry Festival Disclosure Origin of the party The history of one of the biggest festivals in Brazil began in 1968, when Mr. Toraki Yano created the 1st Agricultural Fair, held at the Fernão Dias Highway interchange. Without knowing it, he planted the seed of the biggest tourist event in the region, and one of the most important in the country, celebrating the integration of the Japanese community with the city of Atibaia. Atibaia Flower and Strawberry Festival Disclosure The 2nd Agricultural Fair took place in 1970 and, in 1972, the 1st Rose Festival was held. The union of strawberry, vegetable and flower farmers led to several exhibitions until in 1983 the Association of Flower and Ornamental Plant Producers (Pró-Flor), together with the Atibaia Cultural Association (ACA) and the Rural Union, held the 1st Atibaia Flower and Strawberry Festival. Atibaia Flower and Strawberry Festival Disclosure In 1991, the union of the entities resulted in the creation of the Hortolândia de Atibaia Association, which began organizing the event from 1993 onwards with the support of the founding institutions – as it continues today. The party has already passed through several locations until reaching its new and spacious headquarters: the Atibaia Ecological Park, a space that offers more structure, comfort and security to receive thousands of visitors.
