The restoration of the Rua Aquiles Bianchi Bridge and the banks of Ribeirão Lavapés was authorized in Bragança Paulista. The Service Order was signed on Tuesday (11), allowing the stages foreseen in the contract to begin. The intervention will be carried out by J.R. Construtora e Terraplanagem Ltda., with an investment of R$5.63 million and a contractual term of 14 months. Before services begin on site, the company will have two months to prepare the executive project. During this period, trials, surveys and tests will be carried out to define the methods and stages of the work. What will be recovered on the bridge The intervention provides for recovery services for the deck, transition slabs, the lower part of the beams at the ends and the pavement in the affected section, in addition to complementary works. Technical assessments identified sinking in the pavement near the bridge, caused by the movement of compacted earth. Cracks and areas of deterioration were also found in the deck's concrete slabs. The main structure of the bridge is in good condition and will not need to be rebuilt or expanded. Services will be concentrated on points that require recovery and replacement of compromised containment structures. Banks of Ribeirão Lavapés will have new walls On the banks of Ribeirão Lavapés, the walls that show signs of yielding will be replaced by gabion structures. This system uses metal cages filled with stones to stabilize the soil, contain erosion and protect the banks of water courses. Approximately 117 meters of gabion wall are planned on the left side of the stream and 97.5 meters on the right side. The new structures will also help protect the foundation of the Rua Aquiles Bianchi Bridge and improve water passage conditions, integrating the preventive actions of the De Olho na Chuva Program. Work will allow compliance with an agreement signed in 2016. The services will allow compliance with a Conduct Adjustment Agreement signed with the Public Ministry in October 2016. The agreement was established after identifying the destabilization of the existing retaining wall along Ribeirão Lavapés, in a section of approximately 100 meters from the bridge. The problem was caused by erosion on the back of the walls, related to the drainage pipes coming from Avenida dos Imigrantes. The stringers previously installed as an attempt at stabilization have now been removed and the pipes have been corrected. Bridge closure should occur for a shorter period Despite the contractual term of 14 months, the Rua Aquiles Bianchi Bridge will not be closed for this entire period. A large part of the schedule will be allocated to services on the banks of the river, which do not require blocking the passage. The initial estimate is that a possible ban on carrying out work directly on the bridge will last between two and three months. The definitive period will be established after completion of the executive project. Changes in traffic and diversion routes will be planned by the Municipal Department of Urban Mobility and announced before the start of the closure, with monitoring during the execution of services. During the busiest period of the work, the forecast is for approximately 40 professionals working on the project. The responsible company must also seek local labor for part of the activities. Bridge connects neighborhoods to the central region The Rua Aquiles Bianchi Bridge is part of an important road corridor in Bragança Paulista. The structure connects the North region, Vila Bianchi and Guaripocaba to the Center and Avenida dos Imigrantes. Nearby are also the Padre Donato Vaglio Municipal School, the Mini Transit City and the Vila Bianchi Dr. Renato de Macedo Family Health Strategy. The recovery seeks to preserve circulation conditions, increase the safety of drivers and pedestrians, protect the banks of Ribeirão Lavapés and prevent the spread of erosion in a busy region of the city.
