The action is a step forward in investigations into the activities of a group suspected of qualified embezzlement and money laundering. According to the police, the scheme would have caused a loss of approximately R$9 million to a businessman in the pharmaceutical sector in Paraná. The first phase of the operation was carried out in June, when 12 search and seizure warrants were executed against those under investigation in Tocantins, Goiás and Pará. To advance the investigations, police officers await information from the State Court of Auditors (TCE) that will allow them to verify the regularity of the procedures and the effective execution of the contracted services. This Wednesday's operation was carried out by the 1st Specialized Division for the Repression of Organized Crime (1st DEIC – Palmas), which is part of Operation Renorcrim, of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP).
